Fundraising Event to be Held for Kenyan Murdered in Erfurt

The friends and well wishers of Belinda have come out to appeal to the public to help them raise funds to send Belinda’s remains to Kenya for burial and also to help out the children left behind.

The target is to raise, €5491.85.

The event will be held

Belinda was killed late last month, early morning on July 30th by her long time boyfriend, Nelson after an argument. According to news reports, Belinda and Nelson had been disagreeing for a while over Belinda’s decision to quite her job at a Geriatric care home to attend school for further training. Belinda at the time held the part time job in addition to running her own small business on the side. Nelson who was working at a bakery on triple shifts did not agree with Belinda’s decision causing strife between them.

Belinda’s sons are now in the custody of the local Child Protection Services (Jugendamt), who are yet to decide whether the children will continue to stay in Germany or will be taken to Kenya to live with Belinda’s relatives. The Jugendamt will make a decision in cooperation with Belinda’s relatives and the children’s fathers (as implied by the state prosecutor’s office in Erfurt).

Belinda is survived by her parents and three siblings, all still in Kenya and her two children.
