I met this group at the Abibigromma performance in Mülheim a.d Ruhr. They are a group of ladies that have come together to help out immigrant families from Africa. They do this voluntarily thus pro bono.
For the kids and youth of immigrant families (mainly African) they offer:
- Extra classes
- Homework assistance
- Youth encouragement and empowerment
- Info-abends
- Cultural activities
For parents with very little or no german knowledge, Love from Africa volunteers offer translation services by accompanying the parent to important meetings. They also offer Info-Abends where the parents can get to know more about Germany and the laws/rules governing issues that affect them eg Visas, School system, Starting businesses etc.
