Condor to Resume Direct Flights to Mombasa from Munich

Condor Airline

From July this year, Condor Airline will be increasing their portfolio by offering a direct flight from Munich to Mombasa.

“Our current long haul offers in Munich have been so well received that this summer, we’re taking the next step and will be offering a Boeing 767 there all year,” Ralf Teckentrup, CEO of Condor Flugdienst GmbH said.

Dr. Michael Kerkloh, CEO of Flughafen München GmbH, welcomed Condor’s increased commitment to Bavaria’s gateway to the world. “We are delighted that travelers will now have the opportunity to fly directly from Munich to attractive destinations all over the world all year round. The decision of the popular holiday airline to expand its program in Munich, once again shows the enormous potential that the Munich Airport offers also and especially in long-haul traffic.”

After six years absence, Condor resumed long haul flights from Munich in Winter 2013/14 and has been expanding their offer steadily. From 10th July, they will now include Mombasa, Halifax (YHZ) in Canada, Windhoek (WDH) in Namibia, Havanna (HAV) in Cuba and Zanzibar (ZNZ) in Tanzania.

The eight and a half hour flights will be going for as little as €299.99 for economy, €449.99 € in Premium Class and €749.99  in the Business Class.

Condor also offers direct flight to Mombasa from Frankfurt am Main, Hamburg, Hanover, Paderborn/Lippstadt and Dusseldorf. In 2013, they also introduced direct flights from Vienna to Mombasa after a long absence. Condor seems to be increasing their faith in Kenya when many other European companies are leaving due to fears of terrorism. (Read: German Tourists Remain Loyal to Kenya)
