The Governor of Baringo County, Benjamin Chesire together with his seven member delegation are currently visiting the southern German state of Bayern. The Governor is here to learn from the state on how to bring the government to the people.
The governor and his delegation hope to understand how the regional governments work and what they can implement in their own county to ensure efficiency and maximum delivery of service to the people.
The visit isn’t a coincidence, as the Pro Kapsogo Initiative, an association based in Gersthofen has been working in the Baringo County for a while and they facilitated this visit.
Pro Kapsongo together with the politician from Baringo, Joshua Kandie had worked to have a fire truck donated to the county from the town. The fire truck that had not met the strict German standards but was still fully functional was to be sent to Baringo County.
Pro Kapsongo works in Baringo county in empowering the people there and has even built a school.
According to the Governor’s Facebook Page, he will be on a ten day tour of Germany, Sweden and Austria before returning back to Kenya. The trip aims at seeking grants and establishing bilateral relationships with the said governments. The Facebook update, below:
