Baden Württemberg released statistics last year declaring that more than 50% of their doctors were foreign. That got many states looking into their numbers. (Read: More than 63% of Doctors in BW are foreigners.)
According to the Bundesärztekammer, the number of foreign doctors working in Germany has doubled since 2005 and almost tripled since 1993. The total number of doctors in the whole country is 357,252.
