Business is booming in Kenya and Lufthansa has noticed the need to get more people to the land of cool water much faster.
The flight that is planned to take 8hrs 20mins could mean weekend stunts in Nairobi for those living in and around Frankfurt and can afford the luxury.
From 27th October Lufthansa will be flying the airbus A340-300 four times a week between Frankfurt and the city under the sun aka Nairobi. The LH 590 will have flights on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays while in winter (between 11th December 2015 and end January) they will also include flights on Fridays.
The flights from Frankfurt are set to be day flights, leaving early mornings to arrive in Nairobi in the evening, while the flight from Nairobi is set to be a night flight, arriving in Franfurt early morning.
This comes after a visit to Lufthansa by the Kenyan Ambassador to Germany, Amb. Magut, the Principal Secretary for Commerce and Tourism Dr. Ibrahim M. Mohamed and the Kenya Tourism Board Managing Director, Mr. Muriithi Ndegwa in April where they met with Lufthansa’s Director for Network Planning Dr. Sebastian Hollmeier. The meeting discussed potential flight partnerships for the airline in Kenya.
According to a press lease by the Frankfurt am Main based airline, “Lufthansa expects great interest and high demand especially among leisure travellers. The round trip to Nairobi can be booked from 649 euros.”
