Winnie Ojanga an amazing lady who has been termed an inspiration and very versatile. She attended St Albert’s Girls High School Ulanda in western Kenya. She later moved to Switzerland to join her husband.
Although she knew she wanted to become a fashion designer since she was 7yrs old, she took a looooong way before she finally landed in her dream career. She has worked in IT, Accounting after completing her studies at the Zurich Business School then she moved to the International School of Tourism and Management and worked in Tourism Management.
She managed and organized the Miss Kenya Switzerland competition for a couple of years, which was very very successful with the turnout at the events always superseding the capacity of the halls she booked, before she stumbled upon fashion. The Miss Kenya Swiss pageant inspired her to run after her dream to become a fashion designer.
She trained at the Mode Design Schule in Zürich and she was mentored by a Swiss designer in her atelier and from there, there was no turning back for Winnie who got a chance to grace the 2010 Charles Vogele Fashion Days in Zurich. The event showcased the Biaggini violet opening night. The Biaggini Violet was a collection designed by Pénélope Cruz and her sister Monica who are both Hollywood actresses.
Winnie has her own label, the Winnie Ojanga Creations and creates intricate evening gowns and jewellery pieces.
Winnie Ojanga is a member of association of Fashion Designers in Switzerland.
She’s married to Thomas Ojanga and they have two beautiful daughters. She’s also a philanthropist who takes time to give back to society with a project in rural Kenya that feeds school children.
