Financially Challenged Women to get contraceptives for Free

Health Insurance

The Familienministerin in NRW, Ute Schäfer (SPD) is fighting to offer contraceptives (pills and spirals) to poor women for free.  She hopes to reduce the number of unwanted pregnancies and abortions.

The plan has gained everyone’s support apart from Bayern, who refused to vote for it.

The plan is to offer these contraceptives to Hartz IVs, Refugees (Aslybewerberinnen) and students receiving Bafög.
