According to the results of City Ranking 2013, Munich has taken the top position yet again as the best city in Germany but also the most expensive.
The ranking that took into account the:
- Job market
- Well being
- Standards of living
- Education
- Ease of Access
- Economic stability and
- Demography
The ranking saw only one East German city make it to top 20 i.e. Dresden; worse off was the Ruhr region that had only Essen make it to position 22.
