For foreign professionals in the academic professions below, with German degrees, they no longer need an approval from the Job Agency (Bundesagentur für Arbeit) before they can start working.

* Elektroingenieure (Electrical Engineers)
* Wirtschaftsprüfer, Steuerberater (Chartered Accountants)
* Ärzte in allen Bereichen (Doctors either general or in all other fields)
* Sonstige Ingenieure (Engineers)
* Datenverarbeitungsfachleute (Data Processing Experts)
* Architekten, Bauingenieure (Architects and Civil Engineers)
* Hochschullehrer, Dozenten (Lecturers, Professors)
* Heimleiter, Sozialpädagogen (Nursing home Directors, Social (Education) Workers)
* IT – Programmierer (Programmers)
