A Kenyan man identified as Nicholas Njoroge has passed away in Cottbus, a city in the northeastern part of Germany.

He died from a heart attack on 22nd April, this was after he had fallen from his balcony.

According to sources close to Njoroge, he fell from his balcony on 9th April 2014 and broke his leg. He went to hopsital and was treated for it. He got the heart attack while recovering from his fall, in hospital.

According to the police, the heart attack might have been linked to the fall. The police are investigating to find out if there is any link between the two incidents and whether the fall had been an attempt to commit suicide or if someone had pushed Njoroge off the balcony.  The police in Cottbus are investing and will announce the results of their investigation soon. Njoroge’s body was found on Tuesday last week and is currently in the mortuary in Cottbus.

Nicholas was an orphan having lost his parents a couple of years ago. He is survived by his two siblings, a sister Wambui and a brother Mirie who both live in Lang’ata in Nairobi Kenya. The family is originally from Banana, a surburb of Karuri town in Kenya.

The family has been informed of their brother’s passing and will coordinate with close friends in Germany on the next steps. Friends and well wishers will be organising meetings in honour of the departed in Hanau and Cottbus, details on times and venues will be announced soon.

We pray for comfort for his family and friends. May his soul rest in eternal peace.
