It’s unfortunate that the only picture of Africa circulated usually has hungry children, slums and garbage dumps as if that’s the only thing a whole continent can offer. I won’t deny that these are problems we face in most African countries but I think Europe and America should also accept that these problems exist in their countries/continents as well.
Most bullies will make you feel bad by majoring on your weaknesses as if they have no weaknesses. From time immemorial, Europe and America have continued to only show pictures of Africa’s weaknesses. Overtime we’ve seen many Africans come out and do amazing videos of “The Africa they never show you” but still no one wants to show the other side of Europe and America thus my post today. I’ve only picked a few pictures of Germany and Bulgaria.
A recent report showed that in Germany 680,000 homes have no toilets or bathrooms. If you thought flying toilets are only in Kibera, think again. The fact that children in Germany die of hunger or go to school without breakfast because parents cannot afford it, isn’t a secret. The lie that Europe is the proverbial “promised land of milk and honey”, remains that, a lie.
