About ADPC
The African Diaspora Policy Centre (ADPC) is an independent policy research centre devoted to the study of migration and development-related issues from the under-documented perspective of the diaspora. It generates knowledge, information and insights intimately informed by migrant perspectives, mindsets, experiences and expertise.ADPC as a leading diaspora think tank in Europe, is committed to stimulating informed policy dialogue and constructive debates between the diaspora and other stakeholders in the field of migration and development.
ADPC is looking for an intern to assist with the day to day running of the office. This includes organising all administrative activities and internal management of human resources and planning. The intern cooperates with all staff members and reports to the director. The intern will work four days a week for a duration of six months.
Main Tasks and Responsibilities
Regarding internal management

Coordinate the donor relations including monitoring reporting requirements

Support fundraising activities

Monitor monthly and yearly planning of the activities of the organization
Regarding office management
-
Assist in the design and implementation of office policies and procedures

Establish procedures for record keeping for office and project administration

Maintain office supplies

Ensure optimal functioning of IT, communications and photocopier

Support organization of international travel for staff
Education and Experience
-
MBO+ / HBO student in office administration
-
Excellent Dutch and English language capacities, including writing
-
Preferably experience working in a not-for-profit environment and familiar with migration and development related issues in Africa

Strong organisational and communication skills

Knowledge of accounting, data and administrative management practices and procedures

Knowledge of human resources management practices and procedures

Knowledge of business and management principles
-
Service-oriented, independent, flexible, accurate and capable to work under stress
