22 kids from East Africa taking part in the Pasch Course

After all the visa stress, cancelled flights and looooong flight, the Pasch kids are finally (they’ve actually been here a while already as I write this) in Germany. 22 kids from Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Rwanda and Burundi are here on a paid scholarship they won by Goethe Institute. Other than the East African kids there are over 1000 others from many other countries who are here just to improve their German.

The scholars are staying in 13 different locations all over Germany and other than improving their language skills, they will also learn about German culture and discuss about life in cities and the future of cities.

You can keep up with their activities on their blog here.

Goethe is also offering a 2week course for the School Magazine competition they had for East Africa, the winners were:

  • Doris Maina aus Kenia,
  • Joyce Nabasirye aus Uganda und
  • Aury-Ken Bwashi aus Burundi

The Goethe Scholarships are annual, with many groups for all to take part in them. If you’re interested please check out the Goethe website in your area.
