Fewer female doctors specialize in a specific medical field compared to male doctors.
According to statistics issued by the German Medical Association (Bundesärtzekammer), Germany has more male doctors than female doctors. Most doctors who specialise both male and female, prefer specialising in Internal medicine. The second favourite specialisation differs with men prefering surgery while women prefer obysterics and gynaecology.
