She came and She Conquered – Florence Muthoni at the Boxing Championship in Eberswalde

I hope Kenyans came out to support our amazing boxer Florence who had a boxing match, Saturday 3rd August. She proved to be a force to recon with for her opponent Jennifer Retzke.

In the first half, her quick moves left her opponent quite baffled. Jennifer was unable to make any meaningful hits in the first round. In the second round she was able to predict a few of Florence’s moves but not enough to win. The match ended in a draw for the ladies. A great stride for Muthoni who has never fought outside Kenya before.

She might not have taken the belt home, but she definitely didn’t lose. A rematch has been scheduled for end of the year.

Florence who has been fighting professionally since 2006, lost 2 matches immediately she started but since then, she’s never looked back. She has won all other 8 of the 10 matches she’s taken part in. Florence who’s very confident has already registered for the Kenyan Championships to take part in a couple of days.

Florence weighs 66kg and is named number 14 in the world in her category light welterweight. She is trained and managed by one of Kenya’s top Trainers and Managers Julius Odhiambo.
