Wambui Gichuru of Mannheim Loses Nephew to Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS)

time-to-say-good-bye

You might remember Wambui as the wife to James Gichuru who passed away earlier this year in Mannheim. According to a message she posted on Facebook yesterday, her nephew, Ryan, died of  sudden infant death syndrome “SIDS” while in his sleep. In the message on Facebook she cautioned new parents to be careful how they lay their babies to sleep.

Ryan was laid to rest today, Friday 19th July at their Farm in Dagoretti.

SIDS is the leading cause of death in infants below 1year. It’s unpredictable but experts advice that infants in that age bracket should NEVER lay to sleep on their stomach but on their back. It attacks pretty healthy children thus is usually only diagnosed after all other causes of death have been ruled out.

The message she posted on Facebook reads:

Sudden infant death syndrome “SIDS” has just taken my son away, very hard to accept but by the. Grace of God we r learning to accept. To the young parents we need to b aware of the dangers surrounding our babies and the Diseases around us eve n small issues like “how ur baby sleeps”caution: Don’t sleep Your Baby On The stomach UNLESS UKO KARIBU However we thank God for the time he gave us with Ryan.We lay him to rest this Friday 19th at our dagoretti farm, the cortège leaves montezuma at 9am R I P my dear son we loved you so much but God loved you more!

She later clarified that it was “her brother’s son”.

Pray for comfort for the family at this trying time. It is hard enough loosing one loved one, loosing two in the same year is even harder. May the Lord be your comfort.
