Kenyan from Bremen Wins the Mercator Stiftung Prize

This year’s winners of the Mercator Stiftung Prize are Gabriela Ponce (Ecuadorian) and Robin Wanjiru Njenga (Kenyan). The €5000 given to each winner was a reward for the social and intercultural engagement and excellent grades. Both are students at the Jacob’s University in Bremen.Robin is currently in her last semester at the Uni where she studies Biochemistry and Cell Biology. She is a students representative in the Undergraduate Student Government and a member of the Jacobs Mzuka African Choir. She also loves dancing especially Breakdancing and is part of the Breakdown Dance Club. She has organized several Country Information Days, where students get to present their countries and encourage intercultural exchange. She had already received a DAAD scholarship for her social engagement at Jacobs Uni.
