For those in and around Dresden, I have a Kenyan I’d like for you to meet. This year the people of Dresden decided to make their Weihnachtsmarkt as intercultural as possible. If you’re in this area youmight have heard about her, she’s been representing her Kenyan roots very well in the area.
Maureen Schubert is her name, she lives in Dresden and has been for a couple of years. She lives there with her daughter. Most people know her from the Cultural festival in the summer where she displays and sells Kenyan jewellery, but this year, she’ll be at the Weihnachtsmarkt as well.
She also runs the verein, Colourful Africa e.V. that aims to promote African culture.
